How does OpenElse handle my data?

OpenElse is local-first. Your API keys, conversations, and preferences stay in your browser's localStorage. Nothing is sent to our servers.

How do I get an API key?

Open Settings → AI Model → click 'Get API Key' next to your provider. This links to the provider's official page where you can create a key.

Which AI providers are supported?

OpenAI, Claude Code, GLM, Kimi, DeepSeek, MiniMax, Gemini, Ollama (local), and more. You can also configure custom OpenAI-compatible endpoints.

Is my API key safe?

Your API key is encrypted before being stored in your browser. It is sent directly from your browser to the AI provider — never through our servers.

Can I use OpenElse offline?

With a local provider like Ollama, yes. For cloud providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.), you need an internet connection to reach their APIs.

How do I clear all my data?

Open Settings → AI Model → scroll to the bottom → click 'Clear all data'. This wipes your API keys, conversations, and preferences from this browser.
