How does OpenElse handle my data?
OpenElse is local-first. Your API keys, conversations, and preferences stay in your browser's localStorage. Nothing is sent to our servers.
How do I get an API key?
Open Settings → AI Model → click 'Get API Key' next to your provider. This links to the provider's official page where you can create a key.
Which AI providers are supported?
OpenAI, Claude Code, GLM, Kimi, DeepSeek, MiniMax, Gemini, Ollama (local), and more. You can also configure custom OpenAI-compatible endpoints.
Is my API key safe?
Your API key is encrypted before being stored in your browser. It is sent directly from your browser to the AI provider — never through our servers.
How do I clear all my data?
Open Settings → AI Model → scroll to the bottom → click 'Clear all data'. This wipes your API keys, conversations, and preferences from this browser.
Are the web app and browser extension synced?
Yes. After signing in with the same account, the web app and browser extension sync via cloud — sessions, config, and memory are independently controllable, with seamless cross-device handoff. When not signed in, both run independently with data fully local.
